How underrated are Barry Goudreau's backup vocals and syncopated or down beat lead and rhythm guitar parts in creating a live rendition of such a studio-dependant sound? Lots of genius and skill on this stage.
Grew up on Boston and in Portland Maine yet never seen Boston who naturally got their start right down the road. Drummer is a h.s teacher right down the road from me. I'ma wanna go meet him. 😊
Man, this was awesome!!! I loved hearing Foreplay/Long Time live in this video, it really featured a lot of instruments I also loved the organ solo in the middle of Smokin' and the guitar solo too…Tom Scholz very talented and the same with Brad Delp too playing guitar, singing and playing keyboards/piano. Thank you so much for posting this, it was my only way to see Boston is from this video. I wish I would have had the chance to see them live although I'm sure by the time I'd have seen them live Brad Delp wouldn't have been singing, but I'd imagine it still would have been a great show. Oh btw, I noticed they didn't do Amanda so I'm assuming this was before the album Third Stage?
That interlude between Don't Look Back > More Than A Feeling is a great extra. Any addition of Boston music that can be added to the small whole is valued. It's like Grateful Dead jam segue listed with these > symbols on cassette cover setlists.
You know Barry Goudreau was in the band as well, sad they gave all the camera time to Scholz and Delp who we know are the main characters, but c'mon the dual leads needed Barry back then !!
What a voice from the Bradster! This will only make sense to a few true 🎵 music 🎶 lovers… Brad's voice to me is like Karen's to the Carpenter's. Only a few will appreciate that! Boston was clean, crisp, full and definitive of the contribution they brought to the 70's. CLASSIC ROCK AND ROLL, BABY!!! ROCK ON!!! 🎸 🥁 🎤 AMPLIFIER 🔥⚡🎹🎚️🎛️🎼☮️✌️
Wow, we loved these guys when I was a teen in the 70s. Had their albums but also many other bands .what a great time to be a teenager. The music was killer
This was the concert that made Eddie Van Halen and the VH management upset because Scholtz performed a two-hand tapping like a master during the solo. So many memories of what happened behind the cameras during those years…
I was enjoying this video until they got to the song Smokin'. How can the camera crew stay focused on the guitar players when the keyboardist is ripping out some freakin amazing sounds?!? Oh well. Movin on to better videos.
Enough with the "No Autotune" remarks …….It goes without saying…….. Yes, no cell pones and yes; no girls with all the tattoos. We know. We lived back then in peace and gas was 69 cents a gallon .
When it didn't matter how pretty rock stars were.
This brings back so many memories! Always loved them and their music! So sad about Brad!
Odd-ish set list structure.

Tempo is definitely a quarter or half beat too fast. They are flying. Happens live.
still listening in 2023 now ! best !
Great stuff!!
Painful at times.
Brad Delp (r.i.p.) had one of rock's best voices.
Great rock band , sweet nostalgia indeed
I saw them in atlanta in 1977 ..greatest concert..
Guess they couldn't afford a camera for stage left…
Tommy D. Is no slouch singer but Brad is not replaceable.
I was born in 74 and I always cherish Brad Delp.
In 1979 i was 8 years old… fuck me….
Never seen em live. Like wow! Their killing it. !!

Weird that the audience camera and one other are in color, but most are black and white
bubblegum!

God damn! Boston was blowing anyone who ever played live, before or since, out of the water!!
The best seventies band that killed the sixties? Too much credit.
yes Brad's vocals are outstanding, but what about Tom Scholtz guitar playing. amazing as hell. actually every instrument he played. great performer
Che figata!che forti i Boston!

This is an unbelievable life performance. Vocals and musicianship are spot on. Doesn’t get any better than this folks.

Down with Delpino,a fruit cake.
So many empty seats. Well it is Boston playing the New York area.
The band was fantastic but the singer, not so much. He sounded like a Chic.
This is a treasure!

51:02 This was BEFORE Eddie Van Halen mind you. I think Tom Scholz should have been recognized for his tapping.
Such a shame they stopped recording/had the record company issues. The first album is a classic. Don't look back is really good album
Im going to play my tamberine today! See my self in a brand new way……
I hit a couple notes singing…..
Bass player 11:58~12:05 🤣

I was there and it sounded better than this video. Awesome band.
