I heard Canned Heat play at a place in the San Fernando Valley, near the turn off for Topanga Canyon Boulevard, a place called, 'Middle Earth. That was' back in the summer of 1967. A couple of monthst later, Middle Earth was shut down by the cops because people were smoking weed on or near the premises.

Alan gets a lot of love, but I'm a big Henry Vestine fan. This is a great big helping of Henry's playing, which I love. How come nobody seems to remember his name?? His playing is smoking hot to my ears, anyway.

l had a copy of this, released on the Janus label in Australia. Sweet Sixteen took me a bit of getting used to as a 13 year old, but played it and played it and played it!!!
