How come all the pretty girls like you have taken baby want better food we had a lot more gear yeah i remember the kind of turning point we were growing and i remember talking to our agent at caa and telling them that that we wanted we’d rather have empty

Seats in a bigger hall than to turn people away because we’re trying to gain fans so we tried to get out of the kind of theater as fast as we could even if we had extra spare seats left over so we kind of took that model and i think

That really helped us to kind of grow into it because even even if we had 500 extra people come to a show that’s 500 more fans that we would have made the next time it would hopefully brought somebody to come back out and see us play again so we tried to

Bet on ourselves as we went along and you know we that’s what we do somewhere the tour we play and roll on the next city and do it all over again you know when i when i came into the van which wasn’t that long ago four years i guess

Uh we were still playing clubs right at the beginning of when i came into the band so one thing that occurred to me is wow these guys sound like they’re playing to an arena and we were still playing clubs at the time and so actually musically very little changed it was just

The space between us you know i uh on stage uh all of a sudden i couldn’t smell somebody else passing gas so it got a little bit better you made it yeah that’s how you know you’ve made It The process was really creative though this was like um by far one of the most creative things i’ve ever done i’ve mentioned before but we got all in the same room we’re around each other constantly and uh the writing process or the reindeer process i guess when we were doing the album was

Probably the most creative experience i’ve ever had because we’re around each other so much you know you kind of think like when is the magic gonna run out like when are we gonna kind of get around each other and be like well we don’t really have anything else but

We’re around each other so much and yet we still got in a room and we were like we’ve got all these songs i got this rip i wrote three years ago i’ve got this thing i’ve got this thing you know and it really came together on uh uncaged

So going into the studio we were really prepared you know all we really had to do was go in set everything up get good tones and just knock it down with emotion you know so it was the recording process was pretty cool It’s fun for us to get to work with some of our heroes and some of our colleagues that we’re big fans of we write songs and saying okay we’re gonna get alan jackson to sing on this so we’re gonna get jimmy buffett to sing on it and

Somehow it ends up happening but we we created with those people in mind and then somehow through other people or other change or whatever it ends up happening so um i love collaborating that’s one of my favorite things to do and those are the big milestones for us as

Musicians and music fans is getting to hang out with our heroes and the people that have you know made a difference in our lives and and that their music has been like a comfort to us or helped us to you know have a great party or have a great you know

Have a great time those are those those people are important and it’s you know we got a new list cohen for this album it just keeps getting bigger and kind of grander for who we’re trying to work with and shoot it keeps happening so why not just keep on trying sometimes we get

So far in the process before they even know they’re singing out we’ve already recorded the song and just left an empty track and i’m saying are they gonna sing on it yeah they’ll see they’re working on it they said no the first six times but i think finally now

It’s like i guess one of their family members tied up in a basement somewhere until they were until they recorded a collaboration on this trip we should get together you kind of never know what’s going to happen and you get to play with your heroes so you know we will never make I think every i think pretty much everyone was convinced that we were going to win so it was a huge surprise when the person who does the awards like the z miranda uh zach [Laughter] zach it’s kind of weird there’s a blackout phase that happens that’s awesome okay yeah that’s great Working on a new album right now probably go in this winter and record that and put it out you know we’re excited we’ve got our our record label um is southern ground artists and we’ve got an amazing team we’ve hired some really talented people to uh

Come in and help us and uh it’s a it’s a big you know it’s a big statement for us and for all the other artists that are on our record label to have big album releases the end of this year and next year and um we’re trying to step up our game and

All of it you know i feel like we’re really about to hit our stride you know and working on international working on um the uk and working on australia and um trying to really build an international presence and work on a live show which we’ve done a lot

We’re integrating all that we’re just going to keep working hard and keep our heads down and keep writing music and keep you know keep everything rolling Here But it’s our chance to sit down with 150 fans and get to break bread with them eat with them hang out high five you know hear hear about them you know not stand and take pictures and kick people out of the booth zach’s got this this way of like

Getting his way by feeding people so it’s like anybody who comes to eat and greed is like lifelong fans forever because they taste the food and they’re like i’m you know i’m hooked man i’m in you know chef rusty who’s one of our buddies from from back in the day who’s an amazing

Chef um is kind of in charge of the whole thing he’s got a crew of uh awesome people and awesome chefs that help him chef rusty and i’d like to introduce my buddy give it up for mr zach we have cookie which is a uh kind of like a nascar trailer but

State of the art um cooking trailer that um it’s got every bell mushroom you can really think of for a chef in there and uh and then some of zac’s recipes from back in the day we’re here because we want to visit with you and you’ll recognize the band back here

Serving your food say hello say hello to everybody i just assumed like you know be punched in the face to not just stand for two hours and take pictures and not even get to talk to people and i understand that because i’m a big music fan too and so

If i was you know i remember when if i was just to get close enough to somebody that i love their music is a huge deal so to get a picture with them is validation but being on the other side of that being being a musician that the people are trying to

To to talk to or hang out with we really want to do that we really want to hang out with them and that’s the eating greet gives us the opportunity we get to be at their service we get to feed them the guys serving food in line

And it’s you know it’s just a chunk we just give them give them some love and get to be you know one of the people with them and that’s important it’s important for us for our prospectiveness and it’s something that they hopefully don’t forget too we’ve always done that i mean is

That if we took a break when we were playing a 300 person club zach would work the room i mean he’d walk around and say hi to every person in that club during our during our music break and we all would and uh you know now it’s now our shows

Are too big to be able to do that but we get as many people as we can and still handle and do that and we’re able to eat with them and hang out and share pictures of our kids and tell stories and see what they like about the show
