Radio where i’ve stopped the car pulled over and listened and thought i’ve got to find out before the end of the day not do you know sooner or later but i have to know now who that is and i remember um being fascinated by the fact that he never ever seemed to be
Lost in any way i mean it wasn’t ever that he took a um a breather or to or pause to think where he was going to go next it just flowed out of him always seemed to flow out of him and actually even that doesn’t come just with virtuosity or practice or
Any of those it’s not a question of doing it over and over again or anything like that it’s just that he seemed to be an open channel and he just flowed through him he never it never ever seemed to kind of dry up you know because i play i’m when i play
I sometimes stop every now and then i just stop and think what am i going to do now i don’t want to do that i don’t want to repeat myself so i’ll get caught i’ll get caught up somehow you know free you freeze you kind of freeze and
Look most players do i never saw him do that so he was a channel in some way Um Hmm I ain’t gonna give up on love love ain’t gonna give up on me give up on me I just ain’t gonna give up on love every beat of my heart with joy Every beat of my heart found with Memories it only brought me to my knees All about the midnight crime About the price that must be paid If we don’t give up on love Two uh [Applause] Down Okay I ain’t gonna give up on love love ain’t gonna give up on me ain’t gonna give up on love love on me Every time i try [Applause] Hmm you
@yogsenforfoth5948
Clapton is so far below Stevie that he shouldn’t even be considered the same type of musician.
@joeltunnah
Look at all those tweed Fenders.
@podolgolejras
Damn his vocal is really nice in this performance
@benjaminstorez2460
What tribute to SRV I love that interview
And that solo
@IslandSimPilot
What he says at the beginning, so few people would understand that.
@55Diddley
Glad to see Eric is admitting that he his human. LOL 😂

@lauriefoster1513
Where and when was this performance????
@MorroccoM13
Stevie was the only one that could make a Strat worth listening to. That includes lots of players.
@Leo-uc8zv
Shit sucks honestly
@nydinau2980
Two total different musicians with two different styles and both are a gift to the rest of us! Love them 💞
@kingsrevival7294
Claptons voice is so good!
@robbieomeara1649
Never knew Dave Portnoy even played, unreal.
@lavonhodges1984
Slowhand killed that!!!
@davidcatalano3781
Nice!
@enmiscarrozass4654
Srv is best
@ccrowe256
I love Eric Clapton, no doubt one of the best. That being said, I’ve watched enough SRV to know that no one can touch him! Eric plays great but it seems so routine, no energy, no fire. SRV was nothing BUT fire, he poured his whole mind, body and soul into his playing and let’s not forget his gritty, raw vocals! The first time I heard him sing I was astonished by his voice. Clapton even said that SRV’s playing could make someone who had never touched a guitar want to pick one up but for those who had been playing for years it just made them want to hang it up!! There are many great guitarists but no one who can duplicate SRV’s passion! Number one always in my book ❤ See you on the other side I hope.
@user-nj9bw8dv7o
SRV still lives in the hearts of all of us, that loved him and his God given talent!
@robertgreenwald2811
Eric is the best at what he does and Stevie was the best at what he did! Eric just needs to stay in his own lane! 🙄
@sebastianarguello8449
El rey del blues blanco es SRV..
@sebastianarguello8449
Srv es mejor que vos eric Clapton y lo va a seguir siendo…
@BiggerThanBlackAndWhite202
How come some of these singers? They haven't accent when they talk but when they sing it sounds like regular English…😅😅😅😅
@nohbodyhughno1121
Stevie Ray WAS the fucking guitar!
@bparker86
god i love clapton. what a truly incredible guitar player
@UglyDoug304
So many phenomenal blues players through out the years. I love Clapton and his version of this song. To compare him with SRV is just silly. Clapton is one of the greatest guitarists of all time along with Stevie. What an amazing tribute. Clapton is so smooth and SRV was so vicious. Two distinctly different styles but both were phenomenal.
@tomshowell
Stevie ray was the best guitar player that ever was and still is no question… prove me wrong! Nobody comes close FULL STOP
@danstune
Love this
@bluzzedude8111
Ahhh MAN you talk about a FLIP of FATE? Clapton got on the wrong helicopter. That's why SRV died with Clapton's road manager and manager. It was just that simple.
@G12m
If only there were more mics, pointed toward that amp…. 😑🥃
@isaiahmarquez9717
Fantastic tribute. I haven’t heard this version of Clapton since maybe the Cream days….. He channeled the old Slowhand to give proper tribute to his friend, Stevie Ray. 🔥 🤙🏼
SRV (and EVH) would smile to this.
@cyndygough4107
Damn, man. This is so sexy. My my my. Lord have mercy.
@EC_IS_Here
sure sure, he cant sing at all (sarcasm) If i hear that one ore time i swear rofl.Anyways to the real poinr RIP SRV, your imacpt was like a comet hitting .Miss You Stevie.Thank you for your inspiration, your redemption
@gregschannel4918
I was lucky enough to befriend a band mate of Stevie’s. Alex would tell us about the days of growing up with Jimmy and SRV in Oak Cliff to when they migrated to Austin . RIP Alex and SRV
@KyleSG88
Sounds more like the guys that influenced SRV and not SRV but still great!
@zachh8607
This is, Bloody fuckin amazing mate!!
Cheers love!

😉
@zachh8607
Man…
THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE, IS GOOD!!
Aw, damn!!
Ladies and gentlemen.. Mr Eric Clapton!!;)
@sunflowerz54
A open channel describes it perfectly. I love Eric
@jameskeatts6874
A comparison of Stevie and Clapton is like trying to compare two types of apples. They're both apples with a difference in looks, tastes, and tartness; either way, you have greatness, just in a slightly different flavor.
@robertdowneypeenis6139
Cumtown's Nick Mullen got his impression down pat lol
"If I could change the world I would shrink you down and put you in my ass, where you could control me like a giant robot with tiny levers"
@theJimmer66
Clapton is one of the best and this may be the best I've ever heard him play , but nobody plays SRV quite like SRV.
@riverrat2350
It's gone
@MrAnderswt
To be honest, I felt sorry for Stevie. He very nearly lost his life doing what he did.
@szymonobrebowski3055
Clapton's bass player in this vid, is from double trouble XD
@davidbrown5152
Great cover! SRV interpreted by EC. Not a competition. Just a heartfelt tribute.
@joe-nf8go
SRV will always be the greatest of all time
@mauromeglii493
A feel and a phrasing to be scary!
@zekelittle5076
Both are way too dope!. Great to hear one pay tribute to the other.mad love
@llchase326
I was two days away from seeing SRV at Eric's concert at Sandstone Amphitheater outside of Kansas City when he died. As much as I wanted to see Eric in person, I was even more excited to see Stevie. That turned out to be the best concert I've ever been to. He did a very beautiful tribute at that concert as well.
