Nothing like the 70's! 👉Started with Free For All and ended with an extended version (over 11 minutes) of "Strangehold" come from the first show, broadcast on NBC on the night of November 24, 1978, when Nugent (with Charlie Huhn on lead vocals) performed alongside REO Speedwagon, AC/DC and Cheap Trick, while live footage of Thin Lizzy playing in London was shown, as were videos by Golden Earring and Aerosmith. Wow!
I remember being stone out of my mind listening to this at full volume when I was a teenager. It was a different kind of stoned back then. Much more pleasant. Or maybe the music was just better. 😂
Damn I loved Midnight Special growing up. Had to beg my parents to stay up and watch but they were cool and would watch with me. Dad (RIP) loved Ted and we had lots of trips down to the lake with this madman blaring out of his tape deck.
Uncle Ted kicking ass…..should he be in the HOF…absolutely…will he be inducted….no way because too many lef5 liberals in the music business will not allow it
That's kind of silly I guess for that but a friend of ours they got married and she requested to have Queen music play it at her wedding and they were Rich so it was a fun wedding
I believe was there for this taping and he played it at least 5 times in a row! I still can’t stand listening to it to this day! Also saw original AC/DC and Cheap Trick.
1977, an orange Formula Firebird 400, a pioneer super tuner cassette deck with Jensen 9's across the backset deck cranked and Penny B in the passenger seat. Age 17 was quite fun indeed!!!
Kinda wonder how many MEN on here who were GOOD fathers would just be totally cool that HIS 16 year old sophomore High School daughter was spending her youth with a so called MAN in his 20s , seriously now i am almost as old as Ted and grew up in them years , personally the Men in there 20s seeing Teens were mostly doing because they are easy targets for manipulating and getting them to do as they please , less likely to stick up for themselves as a grown ass woman..
I might not agree with all of Ted’s political beliefs but holy shit when I listen to this song I feel like I could fucking kill a grizzly bear with my fuckin fists. Rock on Uncle Ted
The first concert I ever went to AC/DC opened for Cheap Trick who opened for Pat Travers who opened for the Ten Fingers of Doom at the Seattle Center Coliseum August 29th 1978.

@laytonturpin864
Derrick St Holmes was the chit then. I love uncle Ted, but I’m still just as much of a fan of Derrick!
@charleskollin1221
Derrick St Holmes had the most awesome voice! This is THE jam! Ted's full octve bends are fierce! St.Holmes and Nugent twin lead beasts on the guitar!
@Daathiel
Interrupting a song with an ad should be considered a capital offense. Pena de morte!
