Dry Farming in Humboldt | High Times

Dry farms are rare in California, but the results people like Chrystal Ortiz of High Water Farm are able to pull off without watering their cannabis plants all summer are pretty amazing. Sure it takes a Goldilocks type of microclimate in the middle of Humboldt County just off the Eel River—the same neighborhood that hosts all the state’s dry cannabis farmers—but what those farmers are able to do is pretty impressive. It is certainly a leap of faith to start. Ortiz described the trauma of her fir...[Read More]

The Infused Pre-Roll Revolution: How to Ride the Wave and Boost Your Brand

While pre-rolls are finally getting their moment, posting notable growth across virtually every market, much of that growth has been powered by the infused pre-roll subcategory. Cannabeginners: What is Pinene? | High Times

While many growers talk about their plants as being “trees,” most cannabis doesn’t actually taste like tree leaves or pine needles, that is, unless it is rich in pinene. This terpene is one of the most common terpenes in the natural world and is responsible for pine trees and other conifers, as well as many herbs, smelling like they do. It also is one of the most common terpenes in cannabis and has numerous well-documented medical benefits. What is Pinene? Pinene is a terpene with two main isome...[Read More]

California’s Dopeness Transcends The Lines of The Ruling Class, Failed Domestic Policy

As the Eastern Hemisphere gathers in Spain to celebrate the continuing global process on the heels of Germany’s move to legalize cannabis, U.S. federal policy is giving these fresh markets a chance to carve out a chunk of the market long-term.  There is a major debate to be had around the idea that these markets are just local incubators for the distribution mechanisms that will eventually distribute California-grown cannabis. The naysayers would say the industry has already reshaped in ways we ...[Read More]

The top 420 events in NYC [2024]

As soon as New York legalized recreational cannabis in 2021, all of New York City started to smell like weed.
