Barney’s Farm Strain Story – Lemon Tree, Not just Another Lemon Tree..

Cannabis strains offering such a flavour are in popular demand. Not only because they are smelling and tasting so delicious, but also because their high limonene terpene content contributes to an exhilarating, occasionally even prickling and euphoric way of effect. Limes and lemons – they both are rich in limonen, and so it is with two lemony Barney’s Farm strains: Amnesia Lemon and Lemon Tree. The first one had been tested with a really citrusy, limonene-soaked result by The Doc already, now he set out to check the qualities of Lemon Tree as well.

A cannabis variety named as such naturally comes with a pledge of juicy flower fruits with a sweet ’n sour lemon flavour. Well, according to Barney’s, it fully honours this pledge, thanks to the guarantee seal of two limonene bombs in the world of cannabis strains: Lemon Skunk and Sour Diesel. These classic US varieties were crossed with one another by the Barney’s breeders to create Lemon Tree, a genetically slightly indica-dominant (55%) plant that is in addition to limonene is also rich in myrcene. Which, together with other terpenes contained in relevant amounts, leads to the presence of slightly skunky and gassy undertones in Lemon Tree. Cultivation-wise, this strain appears to be very convincing, too – after 65-70 days of flowering, up to 650 grams of heavily trichome-encrusted citrus buds are piling up in the grower’s harvest basket. While its name may suggest unusually big dimensions, Lemon Tree is actually not a “tree” among cannabis plants, with a final height of 90-100 cm (given a standard duration veg stage) it’s described as medium tall rather. Outside it may grow up to two metres, with plants maturing in the third to fourth week of October and yielding up to 1.5 kilos each. Lemon Tree flowers provides a stimulating onrush full of tingly happy energy to users

The Doc started his second Barney’s Farm lemon strain adventure with two feminised Lemon Tree seeds. Germination took place in the usual rapid Barney’s speed – it took the two seedlings only about 2.5 days to hatch and show up above the soil. From which they were soon protruding tall, after the four weeks veg stage measuring 43 and 48 cm already, equipped with a good scaffold of branches.

Then something was about to begin that The Doc will not soon forget… one of the most spectacular cannabis flowering shows that he, the old grow veteran, had ever witnessed. As soon as three weeks into flowering, a lot of resin glands were glinting on the young buds, an early announcement of a colossal trichome gush setting in shortly after: In the course of the nine weeks flowering stage, the Lemon Tree flower heads looked liked snowed under in resin avalanches. Reported The Doc at the end of flowering, “That’s a breathtaking sight to behold! These fat bone-hard indica style buds are ‘blinded’ with resin, oozing out juicy lemon glue like hell, their insanely thick trichome coating is second to none I’ve ever personally seen! And then, making for a wonderful contrast, they’re displaying a lovely blood orange colour, the sugar leaves and upper shade leaves are vibrant red in large parts.

But the attraction doesn’t stop there – these heavenly cannabis fruits are really smelling like lemons, fully honouring their limonene pledge! The plants have raised a terpene storm which not only swirls lemon clouds into the room, but just as described also brings a slight diesel note with it – “if this element wasn’t there, too, blindfolded you could think it’s real lemons smelling that strong here”, The Doc depicted his olfactory impression, and added, “growing this strain, who wouldn’t think of that famous song by Fools Garden of the same name where they say ‚all that I can see is just another lemon tree‘? Well, Lemon Tree by Barney’s Farm is definitely NOT just another lemon tree… but something highly special in the world of cannabis strains!”Both plants ripened with no delay, with 65 and 68 days even a few days before the end of the official harvest window. One of them reached a height of exactly one metre, the other was 17 cm taller.
