Calyx Launches packOS to Shorten the Packaging Quote Cycle

Calyx introduced packOS, an enterprise packaging platform launching first with Quick Quote. The company’s October announcement describes a workflow in which buyers upload existing artwork and receive specifications, renderings, sourcing options, pricing, and lead times to compare possible production paths.

The current product website specifies that label quoting is live, with pouches and flexible packaging coming later. Artwork Approval and Order Management are also described in the launch release as subsequent components. That distinction matters for buyers evaluating what can be used today against the longer platform roadmap.

For cannabis brands managing many products and markets, packaging delays can begin well before a production line starts. Calyx’s proposal is to move more of the information needed for a purchasing decision out of scattered email chains and into one workflow. Buyers still need to confirm the final artwork, specifications, and applicable packaging requirements.

Safe Harbor Receives More Time to Regain Nasdaq Bid-Price Compliance

Safe Harbor Financial announced October 20 that Nasdaq granted an additional 180-calendar-day compliance period, through April 19, 2027, to address its minimum bid-price deficiency. Its shares remain listed on the Nasdaq Capital Market under SHFS.

The company said it could use a reverse stock split if needed. Its announcement states that a closing bid of at least $1 per share for a minimum of 10 consecutive business days during the additional period would allow Nasdaq to confirm compliance. The extension provides time to address the deficiency; it does not establish that compliance has been restored.

October 26 update: Before this edition went to publication, Safe Harbor announced a non-binding term sheet for a proposed combination with Opifex Media. The company says its cannabis financial-services business would continue. The proposed transaction still requires definitive agreements, due diligence, approvals, and other closing conditions.

Oklahoma Recall Adds a New Metrc Inventory Alert

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority issued an October 20 recall covering two flower production batches from Blue Collar Criminals Collective, LLC. The agency says laboratory results and Metrc records confirmed that affected batches failed yeast-and-mold testing after transfers to dispensaries.

OMMA also introduced a visual recall flag in Metrc: a warning symbol and blue administrative recall message identify affected batches and downstream packages. The agency says the feature applies to this recall and will be used for future recalls.

Dispensaries must remove affected products from sale and notify impacted downstream businesses and patients. Patients should compare their batch information with OMMA’s official list and follow the agency’s instructions. The notice illustrates how traceability software becomes an operational tool when testing failures reach retail inventory.

Standard Wellness Highlights The Forest’s Cleveland Heights Flagship

Standard Wellness’ update submitted to this publication last week puts the spotlight on The Forest Cleveland Heights and the company’s vertically integrated Ohio operations. Founded in 2017, Standard Wellness operates cultivation and processing in Gibsonburg, where its production methods include BHO, CO2, and solventless extraction.

The Cleveland Heights store serves adult-use consumers and medical patients with flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, vapes, tinctures, topicals, and accessories. Its original opening announcement identified the location as the subject of an intended acquisition requiring regulatory approval.

Earlier announcement: The store opening was announced August 5, with a grand-opening celebration scheduled for August 10. It is included here following the company’s October outreach, rather than presented as an opening that occurred during October 19–25. The location adds context to the retail experience Standard Wellness is developing under The Forest brand.

Luminous Mind’s Mushroom Patent Targets Non-Hallucinogenic Fungi

Earlier announcement: Luminous Mind’s October 6 patent release is included following its submission for this edition. The biotechnology company announced U.S. Patent No. 12,697,362 for technology intended to produce non-hallucinogenic psychedelic fungi.

The company describes modifying the pathway associated with psilocybin production while exploring other compounds found in the mushrooms. It is seeking strategic partners in nutraceuticals, supplements, pharmaceuticals, and investment.

The announcement concerns intellectual property and development opportunities. A patent does not demonstrate a product’s clinical effectiveness, establish regulatory approval, or settle the legal status of a future formulation. For readers following the overlap between cannabis, functional mushrooms, and biotechnology, the news is the development platform and partnership effort, rather than a proven treatment claim.
